Angry Red Bird Costume Head Directions

  1. Cut a circle out of the cardboard box for the Angry Bird mask that measures at least 12 inches or bigger for a more dramatic affect.
  2. Cut out eye holes and a nose hole using a utility knife.
  3. Cover the circle cardboard mask with 2 sheets of red tissue paper. Fold over the tissue paper edges and tape on the inside of the mask.
  4. Push through the tissue paper in the eye and nose hole areas
  5. Cut out 2 inch circles for the best Angry Bird eyes using the white felt material and make holes to see out of.
  6. Use the double-sided tape to adhere the white circles with the eye holes of the mask.
  7. Cut out small pupils using the black felt material and adhere to the white circles using double sided tape. The pupils should sit on the outer edge of the white circles for a more dramatic appearance if wanted.
  8. Cut out a triple-humped heart shape out of the red felt material to use as the feathers on the very top of the head.
  9. Cut out two strips using the black felt material for the best Angry Bird eyebrows and tape down with the double-sided tape just above the eyes in a uni-brow fashion.
  10. See the pictures to the top, right for specific directions on creating the Angry Bird beak. You will make two of them, one for the top portion of the beak and one for the bottom for the best Angry Bird beak eppearance.
  11. Final step is to attach the string or shoe laces to the mask so that you can tie it around your head. Tip: It stays on better if you wear a ball cap backwards and then tie the Angry Bird mask around it.

Angry Bird Wing Directions

  1. Cut out wings from the box.
  2. The wings should be the length of the shoulder to the wrist and a polygon shape at this point.
  3. It should measure about twice the width of the arm by the shoulder and taper down to the width of the wrist.
  4. Cover the wings with red tissue paper and stick using scotch tape.
  5. Cut out a wavy pattern to simulate feathers or you can stick actual red feathers if you have some. If you used several layers of tissue paper then you can bend the wavy ends to simulate a more feathery look.
  6. Use the hole punch to make holes at the elbow area to attach twisty ties which will attach through the wing and around the arm. This will still allow the person flexibility to bend their arm.

Coordinating Apparel To Complete The Look

To complete the look a red shirt works best but it also looks fine with the colors white or black. For a girl, the Angry Redbird costume coordinates best with a red, black or white pair of shorts or skirt. Then use striped tights or solid red colored tights to complete the look. If a boy, jeans are are fine but he can also wear a pair of inmate costume pants or black tights if he feels comfortable. Birds have skinny legs so whatever makes the legs appear thinner is best for this costume.
